Welcome to CAPTAC-DR

The Regional Technical Assistance Center for Central America, Panama and the Dominican Republic (CAPTAC-DR/IMF) is a collaborative effort between its seven member countries (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic), external partners (Central American Bank for Economic Integration, Colombia, Spain, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, the European Union and Canada) and the IMF.

CAPTAC-DR opened in May 2009 in Guatemala City and is part of the regional centers created by the IMF around the world to provide technical assistance and training. The main objective of the Center is to assist in the strengthening of the technical and institutional capacities of its member countries. The Center also seeks to support its members' efforts toward greater regional economic integration.

Currently, CAPTAC-DR covers seven areas of work: tax administration, customs administration, public financial management, financial regulation and supervision, monetary and exchange operations, real sector statistics, and finance statistics.
